The University of Galway offers University of Sanctuary Scholarships for undergraduate (Level 8) and postgraduate (Level 9) study, open to international protection applicants, refugees, and vulnerable migrant groups entering their first year.

Each scholarship includes a full fee waiver (excluding the student levy), an annual stipend of €3,300, and ongoing academic mentoring. Around two dozen scholarships have been offered per year across the university's four colleges.
