Undergraduate Awards Graduate Awards For the best experience we suggest using the latest version of Chrome, Firefox or Safari. Browsers supported: Chrome 79+, Firefox 71+, Safari 12+, Microsoft Edge 43+ Undergraduate Awards U of T, through its colleges and divisions, awards more than 7,100 admission scholarships, totalling more than $166 million, and over 7,900 in-course awards each year. The majority of our admission scholarships are awarded automatically. A separate application is not required for these academic merit-based admission awards. In-course awards are open to current U of T students; graduating awards are awarded to graduating students who are in the final year of their degree. These awards are issued based on academic merit and/or financial need. Be sure to browse through the various awards in Award Explorer, as some awards do require a specific criteria and may require an application. You can apply for as many awards as you like, and most awards can be combined with each other. . . Each faculty and college at U of T offers non-repayable merit- and need-based awards. Read More ↓ Graduate Awards U of T offers over 2400 awards to graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. Awards listed in this repository are typically ones where an application is required. There are numerous awards not publicly displayed as students are automatically considered. Funding opportunities for graduate students vary depending on whether you are enrolled in a professional or research-stream program. Research-Stream Programs Students accepted into most research-stream master's and PhD programs will receive funding from their graduate unit. Funding packages vary by individual program and may comprise of a combination of the following: U of T fellowships, scholarships or awards, and teaching and research assistantships. The amount of your funding package, the number of years you will receive it, and how the funding is composed will depend on your specific program; as such, your graduate unit is the best contact for answers to your questions. Professional Programs While students in professional graduate programs typically self-fund their educational expenses through a variety of programs including student loans and student lines of credit, a number of graduate units have select awards available to students in professional programs.
