The UL University of Sanctuary Scholarship provides tuition fee waivers (ie, no fees) to first-time higher education applicants who identify as a refugee, asylum seeker or a person in a refugee-like situation as defined by the UNHCR 1951 Refugee Convention and who have made an application for International Protection in Ireland. UL University of Sanctuary Scholarship application process for 2026/2027 academic year is now closed. The application process for 2027/2028 will open in April 2027 Image Who should apply? • Undergraduate Scholarships - International Protection Applicants who have applied through the CAO to any full-time undergraduate programme in UL as a Leaving Certificate, QQI or Mature Student applicant. Information on applying for an undergraduate programme at UL • Postgraduate Scholarships - International Protection Applicants who have applied to UL for a one-year, full-time taught postgraduate programme.
