All scholarship applications are due no later than May 31 of each year. Apply Now! The American Federation of Ramallah Palestine (AFRP) sponsors many great programs that help its members. One of the oldest is the Scholarship Program. Established before the Federation was incorporated, by the Ramallah Foundation Inc (New York), to help immigrant students from Ramallah with their financial needs, the goal of the Scholarship Program is to provide educational opportunities to deserving individuals. Qualified students of Ramallah descent – who live in the U.S. and Ramallah – may apply for the 4-year scholarship to help subsidize their financial needs while attending college full-time. In addition, students attending medical schools receive financial aid until graduation from medical school. Since its inception, the AFRP Scholarship Program has awarded more than $5,000,000 to financially support students throughout the world. In 2023 alone, the AFRP Board of Directors approved $135,000 in scholarships. Criteria and Qualifications Students must have a direct lineage to the original families from Ramallah or is sponsored by the scholarship committee and approved by the Board. Students must be enrolled fulltime in an accredited college or university. Students must demonstrate a financial need and provide documentation of proof. Students must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA or above and must submit official transcripts for documentation. Application and reports must be submitted on time. Visit www.afrp.org for deadlines and more information. Donations to the AFRP Scholarship Program are accepted online. Named scholarships in memory or in honor of a loved one of a minimum of $25,000 (over three years) are encouraged and accepted.
